When Nora the dog was rescued, she was so traumatized and looked so lost. After seven years, a surprise changes her life forever.
Nora’s new life
Nora was rescued from a puppy mill. The dog was kept outside her whole life and was pregnant with a litter of puppies. The dog had chain burns around her neck from being tied up and lucky to find a new loving home.
Elizabeth Spence was the mom of the family. Whenever she went to pet Nora, the dog would just go down and lay there. The dog had no idea of how to do anything an average dog would do.
As time passed, Nora grew more comfortable with her home and all the other kids. She would lay down and hang out with them, but she had a soft spot for the youngest one, Archie.
Whenever Elizabeth was nursing Archie, Nora would try to jump on her lap and get close to him. Archie was calm and barely ever cried, which the dog liked.
There was a special bond between them. They made each other feel safe. Nora truly protected Archie as a mother would.
Story of fate
When Nora’s puppies were born, they all got adopted quickly. But after seven years went by, one was returned to the shelter. This was because the dog’s owners were moving abroad.
Remington, Nora’s daughter, was brought back to the same shelter, and the people there asked Elizabeth if they wanted to adopt her. She agreed instantly and brought the dog home.
Nora remembered her daughter immediately, and the two happily ran around the house together. That first night back, they fell asleep on each other.
Growing up with rescue dogs was right for the family. The dogs would walk with the kids every day to school, and Elizabeth would proudly say that all their pets were rescued dogs.
All of the family’s pets were lovable and amazing. Their story inspired many to give rescue pets a chance because they are worth it.
