Richard and Elizabeth are a couple that loves to adopt dogs. Or at the very least, foster them. They have two Beagles, Harry, and Kipper, that were rescued from a laboratory testing facility. They also have Maggie, a street dog that needed to be saved. The couple has a big heart when it comes to dogs that have had the worst end of a deal.
When Elizabeth saw Chi-Chi’s story on a Facebook video, she called out to her husband and showed it to him. They knew that there was no stopping them from adopting their next dog. Their hearts even grew bigger, knowing that this dog is going to need all the love that they could give.
Chi-Chi was found in South Korea wrapped inside a trash bag with her legs tied together. The binds were so tight that her paws were severely injured. They had no choice but to amputate all four of her paws. A dog rescue organization got wind of the dog’s story and brought her to the US to find a good home for her.
When Richard and Elizabeth saw her video, they saw a dog that was relentless in her pursuit of happiness. Because despite everything that happened to her, she seemed to be a very happy dog. So they reached out to the organization and declared their intent to adopt her. The couple was warned that adopting Chi-Chi would entail a lot of responsibility. Because of her injuries, she is going to need a lot of care and attention.
It didn’t matter to them. They knew that Chi-Chi needed them, and they are prepared to give her a happy and loving home. So Chi-Chi joined their family. And they were right, Chi-Chi was a happy dog that had so much love to give too. She got along well with the other dogs and was very energetic and playful.
Chi-Chi had an amazing demeanor around her that they decided that she would make a good therapy dog. So they enrolled her in therapy training, and hopefully, she would be able to share her happiness with other people that need her. From an abandoned dog halfway across the planet, Chi-Chi has certainly gone a long way.
